Fashion is what you buy, but style is what you do with it!
If you've followed me for any amount of time then you know that I like layers! I also tend to wear pieces a little different than what is expected. Finding your own style can be difficult when mainstream media is always telling us what we should wear. I have a few suggestions for you here that will help you find your own style.
One is to find your body type and learn what looks best on it. Maybe some people look great in a high rise jean but that's not flattering on you. Maybe you still want to wear that look but need to pair it with a higher or lower top. For me it is a higher waisted jean and I tuck the front in. If I don't then the high waist makes me look funny from behind. I have hips but very skinny legs. Pair shaped if you will. There is nothing wrong with my shape, but I do have to be aware when I am styling clothes.

Have some staple pieces that you know work for you. Have a jean that fits you well? Get it in a few colors and you wont regret it! I jacket that is flattering? How do you layer your tops? Have a tank your henley long sleeve under? Grab it in a few colors! Colors are another thing. What do you gravitate towards? Solids, prints, bolds, or neutrals? For me its earth tones. I may occasionally purchase a bold color or print but unless I have a neutral earthy tone over it I don't wear it as often as I imagined, and have some buyers remorse.
So before you stock up that new fall wardrobe think of the pieces that will look best on you and will make you feel confident!
