Moms Of All Kinds
Iāve been called mom since I was in my mid twenties and not because I had my own child. Iām called mama now and Iāve still never given birth. This kinda hit me yesterday while the pastor spoke at church. He mentioned not only what we think of as traditional moms, but mentors, aunts, adoptive mothers, mothers who have lost their children, and women who have stepped up in a childās life when a mom was needed. I know someone who fits each of these labels and Iāve been some of them, but I have one more to add. In...
Farm Kids
I see those posts all the time saying āThe world needs more farm kids.ā I have a farm kid and Iām surrounded by them. Know what they have in common? Parents with work or a hobby that involves not only them, but their family, and other adults. Itās not necessarily the farm that makes them different itās involving them. On the farm we just donāt have a choice. As farm parents we have to make our kids a part of that daily life and thatās what makes them stand out a little younger than some. They also learn about safety...
Donāt stop what youāre doing for the kids. Do it with them.
Donāt stop what youāre doing for the kids. Do it with them. Make the memories. Now donāt get me wrongā¦you may need to cut back and pick and chose what you commit to. For Tim and I it was taking a break his first year and then doing things together instead of me showing and him roping. I tried going to shows on my own with Payden and neither of us had much fun. With both Tim and I going to shows, ropings, and rodeos together itās great! I wasnāt able to commit to a whole season with any particular...
Type 3 GO GO Personality
Iām sure some of you type 3 personalities struggle with hitting pause like I do. The things this little cowboy has taught meā¦ like to pause my work brain and be present! The older he gets the more I see that I canāt juggle it all at once. He needs my undivided attention at times. If I make that time we both enjoy our day more. Just wanted to share this simple life lesson Iāve learned. Some of yāall are relaxed people. Good for you For those that are CONSTANTLY on taskā¦drop the task. It will still be there. Write...
Embracing the chaos
I think sometimes the sweetest moments in life can come straight on the back of tears and frustration. Our three year old is going through some kinda big change. Heās decided heās scared of his room and wonāt fall asleep in there at night or nap in thereā¦. Making for late nights and one exhausted toddler. Mom and dad too. Our patience is being put to the test. Here he is late in the day and decided he only wanted mom. Didnāt wanna ride the backhoe with grandpa & dad, (thatās when you really know heās off.) I was busy...
